Ciao.

I'm so glad you want to spend some time reading my tales. I document my adventures and time as I adjust to life in Italy. Hope you have a nice stay!

The Black Sheep È Molto Caldo

The Black Sheep È Molto Caldo

So, basically the title of this post translates to "The Black Sheep is Very Hot." Mostly because it sounds a hell of a lot better than "The Black Sheep can't stop F**King Sweating"... And everything sounds better in Italian. So grumpo stuff first because I need to bitch a little and then all the happy nice things. 1. As previously mentioned, I am living in the Devil's armpit. Holy hell it is hot. And I can take the heat, I like the heat. But, when you have no AC and even the restaurants (that I can afford) do not offer the sweet relief of some cool air... your only escape is a cold shower, and oh man do I hate those. My most prized possession right now is a dinky little fan (featured above) that just moves the hot air around my room. And honestly, it's not even mine. Also, I knew I was coming to learn Italian but no one warned me about celsius. If you told me it is 37 degrees outside I'd probably respond, "wow it is really cold outside". ACTUALLY, turns out that is really really freaking hot. 2. This bed blows. Very simply, it completely sucks. However, this is a problem I can control, and thus have, and once I am more comfortable I will write about it. There is just too much to say. 3. It is impossible to stream Italian TV with an American credit card. I don't know who is being a total Mussolini in this situation but I AM JUST TRYING TO LEARN ITALIAN SO LET ME WATCH FRIENDS IN YOUR LANGUAGE. Please.

Status Update: Approx 1 hour after posting this... I realize I can no longer close my window. And I absolutely have no idea why. (Italian word for my window is la mia finestra

Okay, now happy things.

Despite all of this, I still feel incredibly fortunate for this experience. Is this what love is? Can someone please draw me a "Love is..." cartoon like the ones in the newspaper?  Anyways, make no mistake I do love and miss you fools. But, my perfect world would be all of you moving here and we live happily ever after in Italy. I even found really good burritos so I am certain everyone will love it here - lookin at you Matthew. I have started to really settle. I even walked to a laundromat yesterday and washed my clothes, which is more than I did in American so I'm counting it. Also, I am looking for a bit more permanent housing situation then renting from the school. It is a little expensive and I would prefer more flexibility. And for the third arch, I will be adding more classes! I have moved up a little and I am really noticing an improvement. But, I still have a long way to go.

NOW, on the docket for this week. I am going to my mecca... Cinecittà. It is basically Rome's Hollywood and you can do studio tours and see where they film a million movies, and shows. I am glowing with excitement. Really, ask my mom... We just Skyped and it's so effing hot here, I glow at all times. Have I mentioned it is really warm? Also, this weekend I am going to Spoleto to see Moreno and the rest of the Italian Marziani's. They are taking me to the Adriatic Sea and we will be spending the weekend at the beach! I promise to take a lot of pictures. For those of you who have not seen... Moreno and my dad basically look like twins. Seriously, it's kinda freaky.

So, I know this post was a downhill slope. I will try and edit it tomorrow to make it a bit more entertaining. But, for now I am very tired and know I am long overdue on posting this so I figure it's better than nothing.
